Throughout the Pipe Band Week, members of the Pipe Band will be busking in the
Market Square
Saturday
2th July 2005
Pipe Band Week starts on Saturday 3rd July 2004 with the
Pipe Band on parade in the Market Square at the earlier time of 7.00pm.
The Band will play a selection of tunes and there will be Highland Dancing from
the Elise Lyall School of Dance. At 8 pm there is
a Ceilidh in the MacKays Hotel, Wick ~ Music and dancing,
Guest artists, the Pipe Band, Vocalists and a Scottish Dance Band
Monday
4th July 2005
The
Pipe Band on parade once again in the Market Square at 7.30pm. The Band
will play a selection of tunes and there will be Highland Dancing from the
Elise Lyall School of Dance.
Tuesday 5th July 2005
Their will be Prize Bingo at the Francis Street Club, 8.00pm A host of
excellent prizes will be on offer plus raffle and bottle stall.
Wednesday
6th July 2005
A Tea Dance (with a Scottish Dance Band) in the Pipeband Hall at
2pm and an
Open Air Ceilidh, in the Market Square starting at 7.30pm . The Pipe Band
will play a selection of tunes,
a Scottish Dance Band, a selection of vocalists,
and there will be Highland Dancing from the Elise Lyall
School of Dance.
Thursday
7th July 2005
Old Time Scottish Dancing in the Town & County Club, Back Bridge Street, 8.00pm,
Club members and their guests. Traditional dancing to a Scottish
Dance Band. So come along to dance or just sit and listen to the music
Friday
8th July 2005
A Summer Show in the Pipe band
hall at 8:00 pm. mini pipe band, a Scottish
dance band, vocalists, raffles, handicrafts and souvenirs
Saturday
9th July 2005
Pipe Band Week culminates in the most popular event of the week – the Fun Night.
Again this is held in the Market Square and the Pipe Band will be on parade but
not as you would normally see them! For this one night in the year the Pipe Band
parades in fancy dress – see if you can spot your favourites under their
disguises!
