The organisers of the festival have been in touch again for numbers, please confirm if you are going with John asap

AGM

The Annual General meeting was held on 19th March, the following office bearers were elected:

                        Convenor:                   Sandy Reid

                        Vice-convenor:            Bobby McBeath

                        Treasurer:                    Alistair Lamont

                        Secretary:                    John Bogle

 Committee:

Playing members: Sandy Reid, Colin MacKay, Michael Miller

Associate members: John Bogle, Moira MacDonald, Fiona Miller

RBLS representatives: Bobby McBeath, Sandy Fraser, Alec Paterson

Senior Ranks: PM Leslie Campbell, PS Alasdair Miller,

DM Alistair Lamont, DS Grant Lyall

Two amendments were made to the constitution: the age for membership was reduced from 18 to 16 and the appointment of senior band ranks was moved from the first committee meeting following the AGM to a committee meeting in September.

The piping and drumming tutors were thanked by name at the meeting but Natalie Bain and Bob Begg were missed out, apologies for this, their contribution is much appreciated.

RAFFLE TICKETS

You will get your allocation of tickets for our annual raffle with this edition of Pipelines, please try and sell them asap and return counterfoils and cash to John well before the draw date of 2nd May. If you can sell more tickets let John know. We also need volunteers to sell tickets in Somerfield on 19th April.

CONGRATULATIONS 1

Congratulations to DM Alistair Lamont on being appointed a Deputy Lord Lieutenant for Caithness.

CONGRATULATIONS 2

Congratulations to drummer Rachel Mennie who has raised almost £3,000 for Marie Curie with her trek in the snow 145 km north of the Arctic Circle! Rachel thanks all band members who sponsored her

Rachel claims this is her judge for yourself!

PAPER BAGS

John is looking for wee clean paper bags to wrap lucky dips in, the size you get greetings cards in is ideal, please save these for the band.
