Associate Membership fees for 2008 are now due (£5)

SOUNDS O’ SCOTLAND CONCERT

The pipe band is joining forces with the RNLI to host a concert followed by a ceilidh/dance in the Assembly Rooms on Saturday 2nd February 2008. The artists taking part will be Elise Lyall School of Dance, Bryan Coghill, Raymond Bremner (Mod Gold Medallist), Emptyhouse (Folk Group), Philip Todd (Mod Gold Medallist), Wick North Primary School 6/7 Choir, Ceol Bho Phuath (Gaelic Folk Group) and of course Wick RBLS Pipe Band. We hope that there will be a big demand for tickets which cost £5 each. These will be on sale in the Pipe Band Hall from 2.00 to 4.00pm on Saturday 12th January. Thereafter, tickets will be available from Polteney News in Dempster Street or at the door if there are any left. There will also be a licensed ceilidh to follow the concert with music by the band Whisky, again tickets will be £5 and will be available as above.

Could pipers please let Leslie know asap if they are able to play on 2nd February

Helpers are required for the concert, names to John asap.

TESCO 15th DECEMBER

A big thank you to all who played or collected at Tescos last month, the magnificent total of £712.64 was raised for band funds. Tesco have invited us to play again at Christmas 2008 so keep 20th December 2008 free!

CLOTHING AND SOCKS

If anyone has not paid for the clothing or pipe band socks they got can they please do this immediately.

WHIST DRIVES

It is difficult to imagine but it is time for our annual series of Whist Drives to start, these will be held on the last Friday of each month from January to May in the Pipe Band Hall. Please come along for a game and try to persuade others as well.

As usual we need someone to make a loaf and a half of sandwiches and 2 people for baking each month, please add names to list in pipers’ room or let John know.
