Nestling below Creag Bunillidh is the traditional Highland fishing village of Helmsdale. Situated at the mouth of the River Helmsdale (from which it takes its name).

The massed Pipe Bands (consisting of The Royal Burgh of Tain Pipe Band, the Sutherland Schools Pipe Band, the Wick RBLS Pipe Band) led off the Chieftain’s Parade  from outside the Bridge Hotel.
